ARTIST BIO

Her practice explores the visceral, the vulnerable, and the monstrous, merging installation, experimental cinema, photography, and narrative. Centering on women’s experiences, she draws from personal and cultural memory to examine bodily transformation and identity. She currently focuses on art about polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, formerly known as PCOS), a chronic disease affecting women worldwide, and one she was diagnosed with.

 

Daphnee’s recent experimental short, a tender awakening, about Filipina PMOS warriors, had its world premiere at the 15th Binisaya International Film Festival and its international premiere at the 28th Seoul International Women's Film Festival. It was also included in Rolling Stone Philippines' official list of The Best Filipino Films of 2025. 

 

Her experience as an exchange student at the School of Performing Arts and Media in Chung-Ang University, South Korea broadened her artistic perspective before earning her BA in Film at the University of the Philippines. She has showcased at Blank Canvas, Penang (2026), The Mercury Cinema Adelaide (2026), WHYNoT Manila (2026), Gallery 119 Manila (2026), First United Building Escolta (2025), UP Fine Arts Gallery (2025), and more.
