ARTIST BIO
Daphnee Ferrer is an interdisciplinary visual artist and filmmaker based in Manila.
Her practice explores the visceral, the vulnerable, and the monstrous, merging installation, experimental cinema, photography, and narrative. Centering on women’s experiences, she draws from personal and cultural memory to examine bodily transformation and identity. She currently focuses on art about polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, formerly known as PCOS), a chronic disease affecting women worldwide, and one she was diagnosed with.
Daphnee’s recent experimental short “a tender awakening” about Filipina PMOS warriors premiered at the 15th Binisaya International Film Festival and received an honorable mention at the 37th CCP Gawad Alternatibo. It was also included in the official list of The Best Filipino Films of 2025 by Rolling Stone Philippines.
Her experience as an exchange student at the School of Performing Arts and Media in Chung-Ang University, South Korea broadened her artistic perspective before earning her BA in Film at the University of the Philippines. She has showcased at WHYNoT Manila (2026), Gallery 119 Manila (2026), First United Building Escolta (2025), UP Fine Arts Gallery (2025), and more.
